FJT Indian Spring Open (13-15)

Indian Spring Country Club - West Course - Boynton Beach, FL

February 5-6, 2022

BOYNTON BEACH, FL. – After battling out the tough conditions of the newly renovated greens at Indian Spring Country Club, two champions were crowned on Sunday. Pavel Tsar and Remi Bacardi both win in commanding fashion to take home their first FJT wins!

Boys (13-15)

Daniel Enrique Vanososte took the lead for the Boys (13-15) Division after posting an even-par 71 after round one. His round included an eagle on his first hole of the day and three birdies to follow. Meanwhile, four other players sat behind him within two shots of the lead, eager for the final round.

At the start of round two, many players got off to a hot start and the leaderboard was stacked at the top. After nine holes, four players were tied for first place including Vanososte, Pavel Tsar, Tristan Wieland, and Shawn Coultoff, making for an exciting final nine holes. In the final grouping of the day, Wieland and Tsar sat tied for the lead with Vanososte just one shot behind going into 18. Wieland and Tsar both two putt for par, while Vanososte just missed his birdie putt to miss the playoff.

Since 18 holes weren’t enough for Wieland and Tsar, they headed to the par-5 10th hole to battle it out in a sudden death playoff. Both players hit their tee shots down the middle of the fairway, while Wieland laid up short and Tsar hit the green in two. Tsar had a 35-foot putt for eagle and the win after Wieland hit his chip shot to about 10 feet for birdie, but left it about three feet short of the hole. Wieland missed his birdie attempt and Tsar taps in his three footer for his first FJT victory.

Girls (13-15)

During round one, Remi Bacardi and Staci Pla came out of the gates hot, both posting a 1-under 34 on their front nine for a tie for first. Bacardi closed out her round shooting and even-par 71 and a three-shot lead over Krishny Elwin.

At the start of round two Bacardi starts her round with an even-par 36 to extend her lead to four shots. Elwin made a solid run on the back nine to put herself in a tie for second place, shooting a 4-under 31 for the nine and 1-under 70 for the day. Bacardi secured her win with a 1-under 34 on her back nine and a 1-under 70 for the day. This is the Miami native’s first FJT win!

Madison Moman tied for second place with Elwin posting a 2-under 69 for round two. Moman birdied her final hole to shoot the low round of the tournament.
