FJT Cypress Creek Open (13-15)

RUSKIN, Fla. – Two first-time Florida Junior Tour winners were crowned on Sunday at Cypress Creek Golf Club. Jaxon Brown and Tsamue Wu ended the year by picking up their first FJT wins.

Boys (13-15)

Brown went wire-to-wire to end his season with a victory, finishing the weekend at 1-under 143. He got the tournament started with a 1-under 71 in Saturday’s first round to take a one-shot lead over the field.

The Lakewood Ranch native began the final round with an even-par front side, carding two birdies. After a bogey on the 11th, Brown played the next six holes at even par. He rolled in a birdie on the 18th to secure the one-shot win. His two-day total of 1-under 143 was the only under-par round of the weekend.

Carson Yonge used rounds of 72-72 to earn a runner-up finish at even-par 144. Ibby Carrington finished third at 7-over 151 with rounds of 76-75.

Girls (13-15)

Wu took home a three-shot victory with a final-round 74, finishing the weekend at 11-over 155. She began the weekend with a first-round 81, carding an eagle on the par-5 18th hole.

Beginning the final round trailing the leader by four shots, Wu got off to a solid start with an even-par first nine. The Davenport native finished the day with a 2-over final nine to secure the win with a 2-over 74 on Sunday.

Darby Hancock took second place with a 14-over 158 for the weekend. Three players finished the weekend in a tie for third at 15-over 159: Jamie Lowry, Kierra Williams and Sydney Young.

How Entries are Accepted

• Players with an unused FJT exemption will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis (if submitted before the entry deadline).
• Players without an FJT exemption - all other entries are held until the entry closing date.  Shortly after the closing date, a computer-generated random draw is performed to determine which entries are accepted, and the order of the alternates. All players are notified of their status after the random draw is conducted,
• An alternates list will be posted to the FSGA website under "Tee Times & Player Information".
• Entries submitted after the entry deadline will be added to the bottom of the alternates list or used to fill any openings in the field.

6:30 AM - 9:00 AM - Tournament Registration (near pro shop) 7:30 AM - 9:27 AM - Round one tee times off of the 1st and 10th tees

Sunday, December 19th

7:30 AM - 9:27 AM - Round two tee times off of the 1st and 10th tees
Awards presentation immediately following the completion of play

How to Enter

Entries are submitted through the FSGA website. To enter, each player must create an FSGA account on this website (free to set-up), purchase a current Junior Membership ($40), and have an active Florida GHIN Handicap (included in membership if golfer does not already have one). To proceed, click the "Enter" button above once entries have opened.

Late Entry Fee: A late fee of $10 will be applied to entries submitted after the close of entries date. The entry fee and late fee will only be applied if the player gets accepted in to the tournament field.

Practice rounds are available one week prior to the tournament on a space-available basis. Tee times are only available after 12:00 noon the weekend prior.  The price for a practice round is $35 + tax. Please call (813) 634 8888 to arrange your practice round. The proper place to practice your golf swing is on the driving range, hitting multiple shots on the course, not filling divots, and not repairing ball marks are unacceptable and may cause removal from the tournament without a refund.
